French 75

The French 75 is a classic cocktail made with gin, lemon juice, simple syrup, and Champagne, served in a flute and garnished with a lemon twist. Created in Paris during World War I, its name comes from the powerful French 75mm field gun, reflecting the drink's strong kick.

How It's Made

1In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, combine

  • 1 oz gin or cognac
  • 1/2 oz lemon juice
  • 1/2 oz simple syrup

2. Shake, strain into glass and top with 2oz champagne or prosecco. Garnish with lemon twist.
