Sazerac

The Sazerac is a classic New Orleans cocktail made with rye whiskey (or cognac), sugar, Peychaud's bitters, and an absinthe or Herbsaint rinse, garnished with a lemon peel. It's known for its strong, complex flavor, traditionally served in a chilled, rinsed Old Fashioned glass without ice. The drink's origins trace back to the 1830s and it was named the official cocktail of New Orleans in 2008.
